It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fail again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was underway.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this success coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
